We cater to the guests of the many cruise ships that visit Icy Strait Point, a privately owned property of the Huna Totem Corporation, offering 3 cruises daily timed to coincide with the cruise ships schedules. All of our whale watching cruises depart from the Hoonah City Commercial Dock in Hoonah Harbor.

We provide a morning cruise, departing between 8 and 9 am, an early afternoon cruise that departs between 12-1 pm, and an afternoon cruise departing between 3-4 pm. All times are flexible. When the cruise ships are not in port, we offer fully custom and exclusive private charters for the discerning traveler who is looking for something unique, private, and all their own while visiting Hoonah.

We also offer private charter cruises at these times at the full boat price. Beginning this next season we are proud to offer a Hydrophone on board so our guests can listen to the whales. Hoonah, Alaska, located on Chichagof Island, is also home to the largest concentration of brown bears in the world with approximately 3.5 bears per square miles. Bear sightings are a common-but thrilling-occurrence in Hoonah. Home to Bald Eagles, and over 250 variety of waterfowl, shorebirds, and common birds, makes Hoonah a bird watchers paradise. Other wildlife sightings are also common in the pristine natural beauty of Hoonah. But the whale watching is the biggest and most breathtaking attraction.
